  • Guidance: a merging taper should be at least L in length (MUTCD Tables 6B-3 and 6B-4).
  • Option: an arrow board may be used to supplement the advance warning signs on a multi-lane street.
  • Guidance: channelizing devices in a taper should be spaced no further apart in feet than the speed limit in mph.
