Notes from the MUTCD figure
- Standard: flaggers shall be used to control road users through the one-lane section.
- Guidance: a one-lane, two-way traffic taper should have a minimum length of 50 feet and a maximum of 100 feet, with channelizing devices at approximately 20-foot spacing.
- Guidance: a downstream taper should have a minimum length of 50 feet and a maximum of 100 feet, with devices at approximately 20-foot spacing.
- Option: the FLAGGER sign may carry a XX FEET (W16-2P) plaque.
- Option: END ROAD WORK signs may be used to inform road users that they can resume normal operations.
